Before we talk brand, let’s make sure we’re on the same page.

Your organization’s brand is not your logo - or your colors - or even your fonts (but c’mon who doesn’t love a good typeface, right?!)

One of the GOATs of marketing, Seth Godin aptly shared (and I’ll aptly paraphrase) your brand is the set of expectations for how people experience your organization in all the ways they interact.

But where do you begin to start creating a brand that delivers on an experience… or an even more likely question… how do you reboot regardless of where you find yourself today?

I always suggest you start by controlling the controllables.

Because here’s the thing, I often see nonprofits with an identity crisis…

Their visual brand doesn’t reflect who they really are as an organization… or who they aspire to be…

  • The org’s website is so buttoned up…
    …when it should be sleeves rolled up. 💪

  • The social media strategy is so formulaic and boring…
    ….when it should be dynamic + vibrant like the communities you serve. 🌈

It’s a break between your true self as an organization and the way you show up as a brand in all the ways.

And that disconnect is likely a strong factor holding you back from attracting new rabid fans of your mission.

But here’s the good news.

There’s always hope, right?

Your brand is something that can evolve (and should evolve!) and the more it radiates the authenticity of your org’s mission… the less disconnect your donors, your audience, your community will feel. And connection is the name of the game, right?

After more than 20 years obsessing about branding, marketing and the like - I can easily say most people I talk with want to learn, evolve and grow their brand - they just need a guide to help uncover what’s possible - to get a gameplan + tools in place to get to work.

A bit of background.
(aka… who are you anyway?)

Hi, I’m Jon.

I built my career inside the walls of a nonprofit or two. First as a graphic designer, then a marketer, then a fundraiser. I’ve grown to lead fundraising teams and let’s just say one-to-many galas and golf tournaments too… I also co-created a disruptive employee giving campaign framework that is replicated by development shops around the world.

And still to this day I still call myself a marketer disguised as a fundraiser. Hoping that title takes the edge off a little? ha!

But blame it on my creative heart, even while working full-time in nonprofit all these years, I’ve always kept a small handful of freelance work to keep my design wheels spinning. Now totalling more than 50 nonprofit + social impact organizations I’ve partnered with to leverage the power of good design, strategy + impact. And today, this work is a sister brand to my day-to-day focus at We Are For Good - welcome to Well & Good Studio.

My heart - and passion - are deeply rooted in philanthropy work. There is pure magic + the best of humanity on display in the collision of generosity + impact, and it’s captivated me something deep all these years. I’d love to work together to bring that to life at your organization too.

In this intensive one-day offering, I work with you to uncover the essence of your brand - and build a cohesive strategy to align your visual brand with your vision - to start attracting more of your ideal donors + believers + rabid fans who won’t let you fail.

  • In advance of VIP Day, we conduct an overall brand audit of your print, website, email + socials.

  • We also gain understanding of the mission, values + multi-year vision of your organization to both plot and understand where the brand disconnect might be (and future, positive collisions can take place!)
